Utility Worker - Senior - New York, NY (10001 area)
C1 Staffing is hiring a Senior Utility Worker for a shift-based assignment with one of our clients in New York, NY. Pay is $19.39 per hour, with overtime paid at $27.15 per hour, and you are paid weekly.
This role keeps the kitchen running. You will handle the cleaning, sanitation and equipment care that every busy foodservice operation depends on, while also acting as the senior utility presence on the floor and giving direction to lower-level utility staff. If you have commercial kitchen or dishwashing experience and are comfortable guiding a small team through a shift, this is a straightforward way to put that experience to work.
What you will do:- Maintain kitchen work areas, keeping surfaces, floors and workstations clean and sanitary throughout the shift- Wash, sanitize and properly store equipment, utensils and smallwares- Serve as the senior utility worker on the floor, providing direction and guidance to lower-level utility employees- Support the kitchen team with station setup at the start of service- Handle breakdown and general upkeep tasks as service winds down- Keep dish and utility areas organized so cooks and service staff can work without delays- Follow the client's sanitation and food safety standards at all times
Schedule and pay:- $19.39 per hour- Overtime paid at $27.15 per hour- Shift runs 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM- Shift-based assignment, with up to 40 hours per week available across the assignment period- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior utility, dishwashing or commercial kitchen experience- Comfort leading and directing other team members during a shift- Ability to stand for the full shift- Ability to handle repetitive lifting, bending and reaching- Dependable attendance and a clean, professional appearance- Willingness to work at a steady pace in a busy kitchen environment
