C1 Staffing is hiring Cook I professionals in Irvine, CA for a short-term contract assignment in a busy, high-energy kitchen. The role pays $22.37 per hour, with overtime paid at $31.32 per hour, and you are paid weekly.
This is hands-on line and prep cooking work covering multiple meal periods, from early service through evening events. If you have worked high-volume kitchens or catering and take pride in clean plates and consistent portions, this assignment is a strong fit.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events- Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines consistently on every plate- Cook to order and to volume counts while keeping pace with service timing- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work station throughout your shift- Handle, store, and rotate product according to food safety practices- Work as part of a kitchen crew, communicating with cooks and service staff during peak periods
Schedule and pay:- $22.37 per hour, paid weekly- Overtime paid at $31.32 per hour- Shifts run 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm- Approximately 40 hours per week- Short-term contract assignment; shift-based work that may be ongoing
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen or catering setting- Ability to follow recipes, portion charts, and plating standards with accuracy- Ability to stand for the full shift, lift and carry supplies, and work at a steady pace- Comfort working in a hot kitchen environment around ovens, ranges, and sharp tools- Black chef attire required- Dependable attendance for every scheduled shift during the assignment window
