C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook I for a short-term, shift-based assignment in Charlotte, NC, preparing hot and cold food items for a busy kitchen operation. The role pays $19.17 per hour with overtime paid at $26.84 per hour, and you are paid weekly.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support multiple meal periods throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner service- Cook and plate food for special events and catered functions as assigned- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at every step, from prep through service- Maintain presentation standards so each plate and serving line goes out looking right- Keep a steady, consistent pace in a fast-moving, high-volume kitchen environment- Keep work stations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized during and after service- Report to each scheduled shift on time and ready for the full assignment window
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $19.17 per hour, with overtime paid at $26.84 per hour- Shifts run from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM- Approximately 24 hours total for the assignment week- Short-term contract assignment; gig and shift-based work that may be ongoing- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior cooking experience in a high-volume or institutional kitchen setting- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle typical kitchen physical demands, including lifting, carrying, bending, and working around heat- Comfort working with standard commercial kitchen equipment and following recipes, portion guides, and prep lists- Reliable attendance for the full assignment window- Uniform required: black slip-resistant shoes, black pants, and a dark shirt
Arrival and parking:- Parking is available in the nearby Square parking garage, and your ticket will be validated on site
