C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II in Greensboro, NC to prepare and present hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity paying $18.46 per hour, with overtime paid at $25.84 per hour and weekly paychecks.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal periods, adjusting production to the needs of each service- Cook and plate food for special events and catered functions- Follow established recipes and portion standards so quality, taste, and presentation stay consistent- Keep the kitchen work area clean, safe, and organized throughout the shift- Work alongside the kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to keep service on schedule- Wear the required uniform of chef jacket, black pants, and non-slip shoes for every shift
Schedule and pay:- $18.46 per hour, with overtime paid at $25.84 per hour- Paid weekly- 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm shift, 40 hours per week- Every other weekend and every other holiday are required- Ongoing contract-to-hire assignment with the potential to convert to a permanent role with the client- Please plan for a 3 to 5 week hiring process
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior professional cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen- Ability to stand for the full shift and handle typical kitchen physical demands, including working around heat, lifting, and moving between stations- Ability to follow recipes, portion guides, and food presentation standards- Reliable attendance and strong teamwork in a fast-paced setting- Chef jacket, black pants, and non-slip shoes for the dress code- Must be able to complete E-Verify employment eligibility verification
