C1 is hiring an experienced Cook for a short-term contract assignment with one of our clients in New York, NY. This is a five-day engagement running September 28 through October 2, 2026, scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, for 40 hours in the week. Pay is $23.07 per hour, with overtime paid at $32.30 per hour.
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal periods- Assist with special events and catered functions- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and attractive presentation on every plate- Work efficiently to meet meal service timelines
What we are looking for:- Prior professional cooking experience in a high-volume or institutional kitchen- Comfort working across multiple meal periods and menu styles- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment for the full shift- Strong attention to food safety, sanitation, and portion control- Reliable attendance for the full assignment window
