C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II for a one-day contract assignment in Wilton, CT, preparing and presenting hot and cold food items across multiple meal periods. The assignment pays $19.73 per hour for an 8-hour day shift, with overtime at $27.62 per hour when applicable.
This is a short-term, shift-based engagement, and cooks who perform well on single-day assignments are often considered for additional work through C1. You will step into an established kitchen operation, so comfort working at a steady pace and following existing recipes and standards is key.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support service for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner- Assist with food production for special and catered events- Follow established recipes, portion standards, and plate presentation guidelines- Maintain consistent quality and timing so food is ready for each meal period- Keep your station and the surrounding kitchen area clean, safe, and organized- Work cooperatively with the kitchen team to stay on schedule during peak service
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $19.73 per hour- Overtime, if applicable, is paid at $27.62 per hour- One 8-hour day shift, 6:30am to 2:30pm- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior experience as a cook in a high-volume or institutional kitchen- Ability to work at a steady pace and stay on schedule during peak meal periods- Comfort standing for the full shift and handling typical kitchen lifting and movement- Ability to follow recipes, portion specifications, and presentation standards- Full uniform required: chef coat, chef pants, cap, and non-slip shoes- Arrive in full uniform and ready to work at the start of the shift
