C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II in Kansas City, MO (64108 area) to prepare and present hot and cold food items across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events. This is an ongoing career position paying $18.62 per hour on a steady Monday through Friday day shift.
In this role you will work in a busy production kitchen alongside an established culinary team, handling everything from morning prep through service and event support. It is a hands-on cooking job for someone who takes pride in consistent quality, accurate portions, and clean plates.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support multiple meal periods throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner- Assist with special events and catered functions, including plating and timing for service- Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines so every plate is consistent- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work station throughout the shift- Work closely with other kitchen staff to keep production on schedule during peak service periods- Handle prep work and setup in advance of each meal period so service runs smoothly
Schedule and pay:- $18.62 per hour, with overtime paid at $26.07 per hour- Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm- 40 hours per week- Paid weekly- Day shift with a consistent, predictable schedule and no late nights- Ongoing position with contract-to-hire potential for strong performers
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior experience cooking in a high-volume kitchen or food service setting- Ability to stand and move on your feet for the full length of the shift in a fast-paced kitchen- Attention to detail with recipes, portioning, and plating- Comfort switching between meal periods and supporting catered events as needed- Dependable attendance and strong teamwork with kitchen staff and supervisors- Willingness to follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
