C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II in Carthage, TX (75633) to prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold food items across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and grill service. This is an ongoing, career-type assignment paying $15.37 per hour, with weekly pay.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and grill.- Cook to both retail and patient menus, learning the standards and portion specifications for each.- Work the grill station during peak meal service, keeping items cooked to order and presented correctly.- Cover AM shifts, PM shifts, and relief coverage for vacations and scheduled time off as needed.- Rotate through other kitchen positions as needed, including salads, food service worker duties, and the dishroom.- Clean and sanitize work stations, equipment, and service areas throughout and at the end of each shift.- Provide friendly, helpful customer service to guests and staff at the serving line and retail area.- Work as part of the kitchen team to keep meal service on time and consistent.
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $15.37 per hour.- Paid weekly by C1 Staffing.- This is a career, ongoing position rather than a short-term project.- The assignment is scheduled to begin soon after hiring and onboarding are complete.- Availability for both AM and PM shifts, plus relief coverage when others are on vacation, is required.
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older.- Cooking experience preparing hot and cold food items in a production kitchen is preferred.- Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and menu specifications accurately.- Willingness to learn both retail and patient menus and to fill in at other kitchen stations, including salads, food service worker, and dishroom.- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.- Commitment to cleaning and sanitation; keeping the kitchen clean is a must in this role.- Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and reach for the length of the shift in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.- Must be able to complete E-Verify employment eligibility verification.
