C1 Staffing is hiring a General Maintenance Worker - Apprentice for a client site in Bridgewater, NJ (08807). This is a hands-on contract assignment paying $24.28 per hour, with overtime paid at $33.99 per hour, and there is potential to move toward contract-to-hire for the right person.
This role is a practical way to build skilled trades experience across several building systems in a professional facility environment. You will work alongside experienced maintenance staff, learning on the job while handling real repair and upkeep work every day.
What you will do:- Fix and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, and building systems throughout the facility- Perform interior and exterior painting as assigned- Repair flooring and complete related surface and finish work- Support plumbing maintenance tasks, including repairs to fixtures and lines- Assist with electrical maintenance work under the direction of experienced staff- Help maintain and service air-conditioning and heating (HVAC) systems- Respond to emergency situations on site and support any necessary tasks associated with that emergency- Use hand and power tools safely and keep work areas clean and orderly
Schedule and pay:- $24.28 per hour, paid weekly- Overtime paid at $33.99 per hour- Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.- 40 hours per week- Contract assignment with potential to move toward contract-to-hire
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Hands-on mechanical or general maintenance aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn on the job- Ability to perform physical work, including standing for full shifts, lifting, bending, and working with hand and power tools- Comfort working across multiple trades areas, including painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC support tasks- Composite or steel toe safety shoes, required daily on site- Reliable attendance for the full assignment window
