C1 Staffing is hiring a Grill Cook for a short-term, shift-based assignment in Spokane, WA, supporting catered game day events at a university athletic center. The role pays $22.05 per hour, with overtime paid at $30.87 per hour, and you are paid weekly.
This is a fast-paced catering kitchen environment where accuracy and speed both matter. You will run the grill station and help turn out hot and cold food items for guests attending game day events, working alongside kitchen and catering staff to keep service moving on schedule.
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for catering service- Work the grill station accurately and efficiently during high-volume game day events- Follow established portion standards so every plate goes out consistent and correct- Apply food safety practices throughout prep, cooking, and holding- Follow presentation guidelines so finished items are plated and displayed to standard- Support kitchen and catering staff with prep, timing, and handoffs so service stays on schedule- Keep your station organized and clean during and after service in a hot, fast-moving kitchen
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $22.05 per hour- Overtime is paid at $30.87 per hour- Shift runs 10:00am to 6:00pm- Up to 40 hours per week available across the engagement- Gig and shift-based work that may be ongoing- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Previous cooking or grill experience in a restaurant, catering, or high-volume kitchen setting- Ability to stand for the full shift and work in a hot, fast-moving kitchen environment- Comfort working at speed during peak catering service without sacrificing accuracy- Working knowledge of portioning, food safety, and plating or presentation standards- Reliability and on-time arrival for a single-day, time-sensitive event- Uniform required: black pants and non-slip shoes
