C1 Staffing is hiring an experienced Senior Cook for a client kitchen in Johnson City, TN. The role pays $20.48 per hour with overtime at $28.67 per hour, and it is a full time contract assignment with the potential to become ongoing or contract-to-hire for the right candidate.
This is hands on cooking across hot and cold food production, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered functions. If you know your way around a high volume kitchen and take pride in consistent portions and clean plating, this assignment will fit you well.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support multiple meal periods throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner- Cook and plate menu items for special events and catered functions- Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines consistently on every ticket- Keep your work station clean, organized, and safe from the start of the shift through close- Work at a steady pace alongside the rest of the kitchen team during high volume service periods- Wear the provided uniform and follow the kitchen dress code at all times
Schedule and pay:- $20.48 per hour, with overtime paid at $28.67 per hour- Full time, 40 hours per week- Shifts start at 8:00 AM- Paid weekly- Uniforms are provided
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Hands on cooking experience across both hot and cold food production- Comfort working at a steady pace in a high volume kitchen- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle standard kitchen tasks- Strong attention to detail with recipes, portioning, and presentation- Reliable attendance and the ability to show up on time for an 8:00 AM start- Willingness to wear the provided uniform and follow the kitchen dress code- Must be able to complete E-Verify employment eligibility verification
This is a good fit for a cook who has run a station before and does not need someone standing over their shoulder. You will be trusted to execute menu items correctly the first time, hold portion standards across large volumes, and step up when a catered event lands on the calendar.
