C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II for an ongoing contract assignment in Vincennes, Indiana, with contract-to-hire potential for the right person. Pay is $19.76 per hour, with overtime paid at $27.66 per hour, and uniforms are provided.
This role is built for a cook who can read a recipe, hit a portion size, and plate food that looks as good as it tastes across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events.
What you will do:- Read and follow standardized recipes accurately and efficiently, adjusting batch sizes as needed- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal periods from prep through service- Produce food for special events and catered functions alongside daily meal service- Maintain consistent portioning, presentation, and quality standards on every plate- Keep work areas, equipment, and storage clean, organized, and in line with food safety practices- Work as part of a kitchen team, communicating on timing, par levels, and service needs
Schedule and pay:- $19.76 per hour, paid weekly- Overtime paid at $27.66 per hour- Shift is 9:00am to 5:00pm- Approximately 30 hours per week- Ongoing contract role with contract-to-hire potential- Uniforms are provided
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior cooking experience in a high-volume or institutional kitchen- Comfort working from standardized recipes and scaling batch sizes up or down- Ability to stand for the full shift and handle the physical demands of kitchen work, including lifting, bending, and moving between hot and cold stations- Attention to detail on portioning, temperature, and presentation- Dependable attendance and a team-first attitude- Willingness to wear the provided uniform and follow the kitchen dress code
