C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II for a single-day contract assignment in Wilton, Connecticut. The role pays $19.73 per hour with overtime at $27.62 per hour, on a day shift running 6:30am to 2:30pm.
This is hands-on production cooking for a full service day, covering multiple meal periods as well as catered functions. If you have worked a high-volume line and can step into a kitchen and contribute immediately, this assignment is a strong fit.
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items with accuracy and efficiency- Cook for multiple meal periods during the shift, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner service- Support special and catered event service, including plating and presentation for functions- Follow established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines so every plate goes out consistently- Work the line at pace during peak service periods while keeping quality standards intact- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work station throughout the shift- Follow food safety and sanitation practices during prep, cooking, holding, and cleanup- Wear the required uniform for the full shift: chef coat, chef pants, cap, and nonslip shoes
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $19.73 per hour- Overtime is paid at $27.62 per hour- Day shift, 6:30am to 2:30pm, approximately 8 hours- One-day contract assignment, short-term engagement- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior professional cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen- Comfort preparing both hot and cold food items across multiple meal periods- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen environment- Ability to stand for the full shift- Chef coat, chef pants, cap, and nonslip shoes, worn for the entire shift- Reliability and punctuality, which matter a great deal on a single-day assignment where the kitchen is counting on full coverage
