C1 Staffing is hiring a Grill Cook in Spokane, WA to prepare and serve hot and cold food items for catering service at a game day event held at a university athletic venue. This is a short-term, quick-hire shift assignment paying $22.05 per hour, with overtime paid at $30.87 per hour.
This role is built for cooks who move quickly, plate consistently, and hold their standards when the rush hits. You will run the grill station during a high-volume catering service and work alongside a catering team handling setup, service, and breakdown.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for game day catering- Work the grill station throughout high-volume service, keeping tickets and trays moving on time- Maintain food quality and presentation standards on every item leaving your station- Follow safe food handling practices for cooking temperatures, holding, and cross-contamination control throughout the shift- Support the catering team with event setup, including staging product and prepping the station before doors open- Assist with service as needed, including replenishing hot and cold items during the event- Help with cleanup, breakdown, and sanitation of the grill station and work areas at the end of service- Communicate with the kitchen and catering leads on timing, portions, and product needs
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $22.05 per hour, paid weekly- Overtime is paid at $30.87 per hour- Shift runs 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM- Up to 40 hours per week available across the assignment period- Gig and shift-based work that may be ongoing
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Previous cooking or grill experience in a restaurant, catering, or high-volume kitchen setting- Ability to stand, move, and lift for the length of the shift in a fast-paced kitchen environment- Comfort working a grill station during peak event volume without losing accuracy or presentation- Reliability and on-time arrival for a same-day event schedule- Uniform required: black pants and non-slip shoes
