Yard Driver (CDL Class A) — Denver, CO
C1 Staffing is hiring a CDL Class A Yard Driver in Denver, Colorado to reposition tractors and trailers in a busy supply chain yard and support warehouse loading operations. This is an ongoing, career-track position paying $26.00 per hour, with weekly pay.
What you will do:- Safely reposition company tractors and trailers throughout designated non-highway yard areas and spot them at assigned dock doors.- Perform trailer backing maneuvers safely and efficiently in a high-traffic yard.- Shuttle tractor-trailers to and from logistics suppliers and leasing companies, and transport trailers for washing and cleaning services.- Conduct daily yard inspections and document vehicle defects on the Driver Vehicle Condition Report (DVCR), reporting maintenance concerns promptly to the Transportation Manager.- Verify that refrigerated trailers carrying cheese, chicken, and other perishables hold proper temperature requirements.- Follow all chock, safety cone, and dock signal light policies, comply with DOT regulations, and maintain accurate DOT logs.- Keep trailers available for warehouse personnel, assist with unloading trailers when operationally necessary, and support route drivers with product unloading at store locations when assigned.- Assist with backhaul operations when required and attend all safety meetings, classroom instruction, and training sessions.
Schedule and pay:- Pay rate: $26.00 per hour.- Paid weekly.- Ongoing, career-type assignment rather than a short-term project.- Your recruiter will confirm your exact start date once you are cleared to begin.
What you will need:- Must be at least 21 years of age.- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes endorsement.- Minimum of six months of verifiable Commercial Motor Vehicle driving experience; one year preferred.- Current DOT Medical Certificate.- Must continuously meet the defined Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards required to operate a company commercial motor vehicle.- Ability to safely operate tractors and trailers in a busy yard environment, with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and teamwork.- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and perform pushing tasks.- Comfort working in refrigerated areas, outdoors in rain, snow, sleet, and heat, and around loud machinery and warehouse equipment.- Steel-toe boots are required PPE for this role.- This position is safety-sensitive and requires strict adherence to company and DOT regulations.- Work authorization will be verified through E-Verify.
