C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II for a client kitchen in San Ramon, CA 94583, preparing hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events. The role pays $26.48 per hour on a Monday through Thursday day shift, so you get consistent weekday hours with no Friday or weekend work.
This is a contract assignment with potential to become ongoing or contract-to-hire for cooks who perform well and show up consistently. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys high-volume production work and wants an early finish to the day.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support multiple meal periods throughout the shift, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner service- Cook for special events and catered functions as the kitchen schedule requires- Work to meet service timelines without sacrificing quality or consistency- Maintain correct portioning and presentation standards on every plate and pan- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen handling procedures- Keep work stations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized during and after service
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $26.48 per hour- Overtime is paid at $37.07 per hour- Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 2:30pm- Approximately 32 hours per week- No Friday or weekend shifts- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior professional cooking experience covering multiple meal periods- Comfort working in a high-volume production kitchen and supporting catering- Strong attention to portioning, presentation, and consistency from plate to plate- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices- Ability to stand for the length of the shift and work around hot cooking equipment- Ability to lift, carry, and move food product, pans, and supplies- Reliable attendance for a consistent early morning start time
This position suits a cook who can move quickly during peak service, hold a standard on every item that leaves the line, and step into catered event production when it comes up.
