C1 is hiring a Cook II in Portland, ME 04101. This is a full-time contract opportunity with one of our clients, running from September 22, 2026 through December 31, 2026, with potential to become an ongoing or contract-to-hire position.
Pay is $21.07 per hour, with overtime paid at $29.50 per hour. Expect roughly 40 hours per week, with the specific schedule discussed at the time of placement.
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, along with special and catered events- Work accurately and efficiently to meet volume and timing expectations- Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards on every plate- Follow all food safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
What we are looking for:- Prior cooking experience in a high-volume or institutional kitchen setting- Comfort working across multiple meal periods and event-driven service- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle typical kitchen physical demands- Reliable attendance and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment- Uniform requirements will be discussed prior to your start date
