C1 Staffing is hiring a Cashier - Food Service Worker in New York, NY to support the daily foodservice and retail cafe operation for one of our clients. This is an ongoing, full-time position paying $22.00 per hour, with a consistent daytime schedule and no late nights.
What you will do:- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations and service areas, including sweeping and mopping floors and keeping the space safe and orderly- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling according to proper procedures- Assist with setup and serving of food from counters and steam tables, and heat and prepare food items while following food safety and handling guidelines- Prepare espresso-based coffee beverages, including lattes and cappuccinos- Operate the register/POS during service hours and accurately process customer transactions- Provide friendly, attentive customer service in a fast-paced coffee shop and foodservice environment- Restock supplies, food, beverages and other products, keep the storage area organized with items properly labeled and shelved, and assist with inventory counting, labeling and tracking- Support receiving and safely storing deliveries, and help with daily cleanup and closing duties
Schedule and pay:- $22.00 per hour, paid weekly- Overtime paid at $28.50 per hour- 40 hours per week- Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 3:45 PM- Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM- Potential to continue on an ongoing or contract-to-hire basis
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Previous experience in a coffee shop, cafe, foodservice, custodial or similar role preferred- Experience preparing espresso-based beverages such as lattes and cappuccinos- Basic knowledge of heating and preparing food for service- Some cash register/POS and cash handling experience preferred- Familiarity with basic inventory, stocking and organization practices- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards- Reliable and dependable, able to follow directions, and a team player with a positive, can-do attitude- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment- Uniform required: black pants, gray polo shirt, black sneakers
