C1 Staffing is hiring a Utility Worker for a short-term contract assignment in Decatur, IL 62526, keeping kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils clean and ready for service. The role pays $19.61 per hour on a steady Monday through Friday daytime schedule, with no nights or weekends.
What you will do:- Maintain kitchen work areas, keeping counters, surfaces and prep stations clean and organized throughout the shift- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, then return it to its proper storage location- Wash utensils, pots, pans and smallwares, and put them away so the line stays stocked- Handle general cleaning and upkeep tasks as needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly- Support the kitchen team with utility duties during busy production periods- Keep work areas tidy and sanitary in line with the kitchen's standards- Stay on your feet and moving in a fast-paced kitchen environment for the full shift
Schedule and pay:- $19.61 per hour- Overtime paid at $27.45 per hour- Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.- 40 hours per week- Short-term contract assignment- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Reliable attendance for the full assignment window — this is a short assignment, so every shift counts- Ability to stand and walk for the length of the shift- Ability to bend and lift repeatedly in a fast-paced kitchen setting- Comfort working around commercial kitchen equipment, hot water and cleaning chemicals- Required uniform: black shirt, black pants and black safety shoes- Pride in a clean, well-run kitchen and a willingness to pitch in wherever the team needs help
This is a good fit if you have worked as a dishwasher, kitchen utility, porter or steward before, or if you simply work hard and keep a clean station. Previous kitchen experience is helpful, but the duties are straightforward and the team will show you how they run their areas.
