C1 is hiring Cook II — multiple openings in Portland, ME
C1 is currently filling five Cook II positions with one of our client partners in Portland, Maine. This is a contract assignment running from October 1, 2026 through December 11, 2026, with ongoing and contract-to-hire potential for cooks who perform well.
Pay and schedule:- $21.07 per hour, with overtime paid at $29.50 per hour- Shifts run 1pm to 7pm, averaging 24 hours per week
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner service- Cook for special events and catered functions- Work accurately and efficiently to meet meal period timelines
What you will need:- Hands-on cooking experience across multiple meal periods- Comfort working on your feet in a fast-paced kitchen environment- Attention to detail in portioning, presentation, and food safety- Required personal protective gear: non-slip shoes and a cut-resistant glove
