C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook I for a client location in Indianola, IA (50125), preparing hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events. The role pays $16.61 per hour with overtime at $23.25 per hour on a steady 40-hour evening schedule.
This is a contract assignment with potential to go ongoing or contract-to-hire for the right candidate. You will work in a high-volume kitchen alongside an established culinary team, turning out consistent, well-presented plates across multiple meal periods.
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner service throughout the assignment- Cook and plate food for special events and catered functions- Follow recipes and portion standards so quality and presentation stay consistent from plate to plate- Work efficiently to have menu items ready and properly held for each meal period- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area throughout the shift- Clean and reset your station and equipment at the close of service
Schedule and pay:- $16.61 per hour, paid weekly- Overtime paid at $23.25 per hour- 40 hours per week- Shift is 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen setting- Ability to be on your feet for the full shift in a fast-paced environment- Comfort working across multiple meal periods and event service- Dependable attendance for the scheduled evening hours- Must be able to complete E-Verify work authorization
Uniform notes: a chef coat is provided for you. You will need to supply your own black pants and slip-resistant shoes.
