C1 Staffing is hiring short order cooks to handle cooking and prepping in a golf course kitchen in Leander, TX 78641. This is temporary, shift-based work paying $20.00 per hour, with pay processed weekly.
What you will do:- Cook and prep food in a golf course kitchen setting, working from the day's prep list and ticket orders- Handle short order cooking to order, keeping items moving quickly during busy stretches on the course- Prep ingredients ahead of service, including washing, cutting, portioning, and labeling items for the line- Work the grill, flat top, fryer, and other kitchen equipment safely and at the right temperatures- Plate and finish orders so they go out consistently and look the way they should- Follow food safety and food handling standards, including proper storage, holding temperatures, and cross-contamination prevention- Keep the line, prep areas, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the shift, including closing cleanup- Restock the line and communicate with kitchen leadership about product levels and order timing
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $20.00 per hour- Paid weekly- Temporary shift type; gig and shift-based work that may be ongoing depending on business needs and your performance- Shifts are assigned in advance, and reliable cooks are often invited back for additional shifts
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Valid Food Handler Card- 1-2 years of cooking experience, ideally in a short order, line cook, or high-volume prep role- Comfortable working from tickets and prep lists with limited direction once you know the station- Ability to stand for the length of your shift, move quickly in a hot kitchen, and work around grills, fryers, and ovens- Ability to lift and carry kitchen product and supplies, and to bend, reach, and stoop while prepping and stocking- Knife skills and knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices- Must be able to complete E-Verify; C1 Staffing participates in E-Verify and confirms work authorization for all employees
